None of this is unusual. A flexible technology programme helps the project adjust without creating avoidable disruption.
Technology readiness has its own milestones
A site may be safe enough for one trade while still unsuitable for equipment installation and testing. Dust, incomplete power, unsecured rooms and changing floor plans all affect the technology work.
NBN continues to expand full-fibre availability. As at March 2026, NBN reported that 5.06 million homes and businesses could upgrade or had upgraded from FTTN and FTTC copper networks to full fibre.
Availability does not remove the need for planning. The service still needs to be ordered, the handoff location confirmed and the internal path to the communications cabinet prepared.

The best results come when the technology partner is involved before technical decisions are locked in and while the floor plan remains flexible.

We prefer one coordinated installation window where practical. It reduces repeated visits and gives us a better chance to test the cabinet, data outlets, wireless coverage, phones, cameras, alarms and meeting-room equipment as one system.
